Kaspersky: Mac, Linux Virii Explosion
Eugene Kaspersky says that MS Vista’s poor sales will drive more users to other platforms and increase “significantly” the number of malware exploits for those platforms. He suggests Linux’ availability in code might be more problematic when and if that occurs:
More people are watching open-source code, so they are more quick to find problems. If the people who make the fix are good guys, that’s great; if they are bad guys, that’s a problem.
Kaspersky also has unflattering things to say about Vista, smartphones, and game consoles.
