Another survey finds that 31 percent of Americans are elite technology users, 20 percent more are moderate users, and the balance have little or no use for the Internet or cell phones. This Pew study of 4001 adults also found four even divisions within the elite technology users, which the researchers divided into those who embrace and employ new technologies, those who see and use technology as tools for connecting, those who use new technologies for improving productivity, and dinosaurs who stubbornly use technologies but have a preference for technologies with which they began.
Once we got done, we were surprised to find the tensions within groups of users with information technology.

The survey also found 15% of Americans have no cell phone or internet connection.
